An event can be a show/concert, game night, conference, church conference, comedy show, festival, workshop or any gathering where people need tickets. Paid or FREE.

A strong event listing should help a buyer quickly understand what is happening, where it is, when it starts and what ticket they should buy.

Before you start

Have the main event information ready before you begin. This includes the event name, date and time, venue, description, photos and ticket prices.

You should also know how many tickets you want to sell and whether you will offer different ticket types, such as General Admission, VIP or Early Bird.

Create the event

From your seller dashboard:

Open Events.
Select Create Event.
Complete the event form.

You can save your work and return later if you are not ready to finish everything at once.

Add the event details

Start with a clear event title.

For example:

Lilongwe Music Festival 2026

Malawi vs Zambia — International Friendly

Stand-up Comedy Night with Dalitso

Use the real public name of the event. Avoid adding phone numbers or unnecessary information to the title.

Then choose the category that best describes the event so buyers can find it more easily.

Write a clear description

The description should tell people what they are buying a ticket for.

Explain what the event is, who is appearing or participating, what people can expect and any important information they should know before buying.

For example:

Lilongwe Music Festival brings together Malawian and regional artists for an evening of live music, DJs and food. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and performances begin at 6:00 p.m. The event is open to all ages, but anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Keep it clear and useful.

Do not make buyers search through a long paragraph to find basic information such as age restrictions, entry requirements or what the ticket includes.

Set the date and time

Add the correct start and end date and time.

Check these carefully before submitting the event.

The event page, tickets and buyer communication may all depend on this information, so even a small mistake can create confusion later.

If the event runs across more than one day, make sure the dates reflect the full event period.

Add the Location

Enter the venue name and location. Search on the map to provide GPS directions to customers.

Where available, add the district, area or neighbourhood and any useful address information if not auto completed.

Then check the map and make sure the pin is in the correct place.

A buyer may use this information to decide whether they can attend, plan transport or find the venue on the day.

Do not place the pin approximately if you know the exact location.

Add event photos

Choose a strong cover image that represents the event well.

This is often the first thing buyers see when they discover the event, so make it clear and relevant.

You can also add other images where useful, such as performers, the venue, previous editions of the event or other visuals that help people understand what to expect.

Use images that honestly represent the event.

Avoid adding phone numbers, unnecessary text or misleading images that make the event appear to offer something it does not.

Create your ticket types

Every event needs at least one ticket type.

if its a free event, put 0 on the ticket price , it will automatically be free and buyers will not have to pay and still get a free ticket

For a simple event, you may only need:

General Admission — MWK 15,000

For events with different experiences, you may offer more than one option:

General Admission — MWK 15,000

VIP — MWK 35,000

For each ticket type, add the name, price and number of tickets available.

You can also add a short description where the difference between ticket types needs explanation.

For example:

VIP includes reserved seating and access to the VIP area.

Only create different ticket types when there is a real difference for the buyer.

Set ticket availability carefully

The total number of tickets you make available should reflect what the event can safely and realistically accommodate.

Do not sell more tickets than the venue can handle.

If Tambala allows you to set sales dates, purchase limits or early-bird options, use them only where they support your actual ticket plan.

For example, you may use an Early Bird ticket for a limited period before the normal ticket price begins.

Keep the structure simple where possible. Too many ticket choices can make buying harder.

Customise the ticket if you want

Tambala may allow you to change how the digital ticket looks, including things such as the ticket header, accent colour or a short message.

This is optional.

Use it if it helps the ticket feel connected to your event, but do not spend more time on ticket styling than on the information buyers actually need.

The event details and ticket validity matter more than decoration.

Check the event before submitting

Before you finish, preview the event as if you were buying a ticket yourself.

Ask:

Is it immediately clear what the event is?
Are the date and time correct?
Is the venue easy to understand and locate?
Do the photos represent the event honestly?
Are the ticket types easy to understand?
Are the prices and quantities correct?
Are any important restrictions or conditions clear?

Correct anything that may confuse buyers.

When everything is ready, select Submit for Review.

What happens after you submit

Your event will show a review status while Tambala checks the listing.

If the event is approved, you can publish it when you are ready to start selling tickets.

If something needs to be corrected, open the event, review the reason, make the necessary changes and submit it again.

Once published, buyers can find the event and purchase available tickets.

Before publishing, make sure a buyer can quickly understand:

What is happening?

When is it?

Where is it?

What does my ticket include?

How much does it cost?

If those answers are clear, you have built a strong event listing.

Once your event is live, continue with Edit and Manage Your Events or Process Ticket Orders.
