A good stay listing should help a guest understand three things quickly: what the place is like, where it is, and what they are booking.

Before you start

Have the main property information ready before you begin. This includes the property name, location, contact details, photos, room or accommodation details, prices, check-in and check-out times, and your main guest policies.

If you are not ready to finish everything at once, you can save your work and return later.

Add your property

From your seller dashboard:

Open Bookings.
Choose Properties.
Select Add Property.

You can then begin completing the stay listing.

Choose the property type and name

Start by choosing the option that best describes your property, such as a hotel, lodge, guesthouse, apartment, bed and breakfast or villa.

Choose the closest honest description. The property type helps guests understand what kind of stay to expect.

Then add the public name of the property.

For example:

Sunset Lodge Lilongwe

Area 47 Guest House

Lakeview Bed and Breakfast

Use the real name customers know you by. Avoid putting phone numbers or unnecessary information in the property name.

Add the location

Enter the address and location details carefully.

Where available, include the area or township, city, district and street information. Then use the map to place the property pin in the correct location.

Take a moment to check the pin.

A guest who has never visited you may depend on this information to understand where the property is and plan their journey. An incorrect location can create confusion before the stay has even started.

Add the guest contact details

Add a phone number and email address that your business checks regularly.

These details may be used for booking communication, so do not use a number or inbox that nobody monitors.

Make sure they are correct before continuing.

Describe the property

Your description should help the guest imagine the stay.

Explain what kind of property it is, where it is located, what the experience is like and anything important about the surrounding area.

For example:

Sunset Lodge is a quiet guesthouse in Area 47, Lilongwe. We offer comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, Wi-Fi and secure parking. The property is close to local shops and restaurants and is suitable for both business and leisure stays.

Keep it useful and honest.

You do not need to describe every detail here. Important room features and amenities can be added in the appropriate sections.

Add amenities

Select the amenities that guests can actually use during their stay.

These may include things such as Wi-Fi, parking, hot water, air conditioning, breakfast, security, a swimming pool or garden.

Only select amenities that are genuinely available.

If Wi-Fi works only in the reception area, for example, do not describe it as though every room has strong Wi-Fi unless that is true.

A booking made from incorrect information often becomes a disappointed guest later.

Choose how guests can book

Your property may be offered as an entire place, as individual rooms, or both where Tambala supports that setup.

Entire place

Choose this when one booking gives the guest use of the whole property, such as an apartment, house or villa.

Add the number of guests the property can accommodate and the nightly price. Complete any other pricing or booking settings shown in the form.

Rooms

Choose this when guests book individual rooms, such as in a hotel, lodge or guesthouse.

Create each room type separately.

For example:

Standard Double Room

Deluxe King Room

Twin Room

For each room type, explain what the guest is booking and add the correct capacity, bed arrangement, number of available rooms and price per night.

You can also add room-specific amenities and photos where available.

If you have three rooms that are genuinely the same type, you can usually list them under one room type with the correct quantity rather than creating three separate listings.

Set your prices

Enter the nightly price carefully.

If different room types have different prices, set each one correctly. If Tambala allows different weekend or other rates, add them only where they reflect the price you actually intend to charge.

Also review any deposit or payment settings shown in the form before continuing.

The guest should understand what they are being charged and what is required to confirm the booking.

Add photos

Photos are one of the most important parts of a stay listing because the guest cannot inspect the property before booking.

Start with a strong cover image that represents the property honestly.
Then show the things a guest would want to see before making a decision: the outside of the property, bedrooms, bathrooms, common areas and important facilities such as parking, a garden, pool or view.
Use bright, clear photographs where possible.
Avoid using old photos that no longer represent the property, and do not hide important weaknesses with misleading angles or heavy editing.

The goal is not to make the property look like something it is not. The goal is to help the right guest know what to expect.

Set check-in, check-out and House rules (guest policies)

Add the times guests can normally check in and when they should check out.

Choose times that your property can manage consistently.

Then add your cancellation policy and any important house rules.

House rules may cover things such as smoking, pets, visitors, noise or other expectations guests should know before booking.

Keep rules reasonable and clear. A guest should not discover an important restriction only after they have paid.

Check the listing before submitting

Before you finish, preview the stay as if you were a guest.

Ask yourself:

Is the location correct?
Do the photos show the real property?
Is it clear what the guest is booking?
Are room quantities and guest capacities accurate?
Are the prices correct?
Are the amenities genuinely available?
Are check-in, check-out and cancellation information clear?
Would I know what to expect if I booked this property?

Correct anything that may confuse the guest.

When everything is ready, select Submit for Review.

What happens after you submit

Your stay will show a review status while Tambala checks the listing.

If it is approved, it can be published and made available for bookings. If something needs to be corrected, you will see the reason so you can make the change and submit it again.

Do not depend on a fixed approval time. Follow the current status shown in your seller dashboard.

Before publishing, make sure a guest can quickly understand:

Where is it?

What am I booking?

How many people can stay?

What is included?

How much will it cost?

If those answers are clear and the photos match reality, you have built a strong starting point.
