Some details may already be filled in from when you created your seller account. This guide will help you check them, correct anything that is wrong, and add what is missing.

Before you start

It helps to have these details ready:

Your correct business name.
A short explanation of what your business offers.
Your business phone number and email address.
The area and district where your business is based.
The main categories that describe your business.
A clear business logo, if you have one.

Do not worry when you do not have a logo yet. You can complete the other details first and return to add the logo later.

1. Open your business information

Go to Settings, then choose Business Profile.

Some details may already appear because you entered them during registration. Check every field instead of assuming that everything is correct.

2. Check your business name

Your business name is the name customers will see when they visit your store or find one of your listings.

Use the name that customers already know. If your business is registered, use the correct registered name when the page asks for it.

Good examples include:

Mwayi Farm Produce.
Bluewave Electronics.
City Lights Events.
Lakeview Guest House.

Keep the name short, clear, and easy to remember. Do not add phone numbers, prices, delivery messages, or a long list of what you sell.

Write: Bluewave Electronics

Do not write:Bluewave Cheap Phones and Laptops Call 099...

When your registered business name is different from the name customers know, the page may give you separate fields for the registered name and the store or trading name. Enter each one in the correct place.

3. Write your business description

Your description should help someone understand your business without needing to call you first.

In one to three short paragraphs, explain:

What your business sells or offers.
Where the business is based.
Who you serve.
What customers can expect.

Use simple and honest language. You do not need to make the business sound bigger than it is.

Example for a product seller

Mwayi Farm Produce sells fresh vegetables, beans, groundnuts, and other farm products. We are based in Lilongwe and offer pickup and delivery for some orders.

Example for an electronics seller

Bluewave Electronics sells phones, laptops, accessories, and selected home electronics in Lilongwe. We give customers clear product information and help them choose the right items.

Example for an event organiser

City Lights Events organises music, food, and community events in Blantyre. Customers can use our Tambala Market store to see upcoming events and buy tickets.

Example for a place to stay

Lakeview Guest House offers clean and comfortable rooms in Mangochi. Guests can see room pictures, prices, what is included, and booking information through our store.

Keep the description helpful

Write about information that matters to the customer. Avoid long stories, difficult words, or claims that you cannot prove.

Do not write everything in capital letters. Avoid descriptions such as:

WE ARE THE BEST BUSINESS IN MALAWI WITH THE CHEAPEST PRICES.

A simple and clear description will usually build more trust.

4. Choose your main categories

Categories tell Tambala Market what kind of business you run. They also help customers find businesses and listings that match what they are looking for.

Choose categories that describe the business as a whole such as Products, Events, Stays and Venues.

Choose only categories that truly match your business. Do not choose unrelated categories simply because you want the business to appear in more searches.

You can update the categories later when your business starts offering something new.

5. Check your contact email address

Add an email address that you or someone responsible for the business checks often.

Tambala Market may use this address to send:

Order or booking messages.
Payment updates.
Account notices.
Requests for more information.
Support messages.

Check the spelling carefully. A small mistake may stop important messages from reaching you.

The contact email may be the same as the email you use to sign in, but it does not always have to be. For example, a business may use one email for the account and another email for customer or order messages.

Use the address that your business can manage well.

6. Check your phone number

Add a phone number that is active and answered often.

For a Malawi phone number, use a format such as: +265991234567 or 0991234567

Do not add the first zero after +265.

Tambala Market, a customer, or a delivery person may need to use this number for:

Order questions.
Booking questions.
Delivery.
Pickup.
Account help.
Payment questions.

Do not use a number that is often switched off or belongs to someone who does not help manage the business.

Important: Check the phone number carefully before saving. A wrong number may delay an order, booking, delivery, or support response.

7. Add your business location

Enter the real place where your business is based or mainly operates.

The page may ask for:

District.
Area or township.

Use a location that customers and delivery people can understand.

For example:

Area 25, Lilongwe.
Ndirande, Blantyre.
Mangochi Boma.
Mzuzu City Centre.
Bembeke, Dedza.

Correct location information can help with customer searches, delivery, pickup, account checking, and support.

8. Add your business logo

Your logo is the small picture shown next to your business name. Customers may see it on your store page, listings, orders, or other parts of Tambala Market.

A good logo should be:

Clear.
Square.
Easy to recognise.
Easy to see on a phone.
Simple enough to remain clear when shown at a small size.

If you already have a logo, upload the clearest version you have.

When you do not have a formal logo, you can use a simple square design with your business name. Use large, readable letters and a clean background.

Avoid using:

A blurry picture.
A full poster.
Several phone numbers.
A long business message.
A temporary sale advertisement.
A logo that belongs to another business.
A picture with very small words.

Recommended logo size

Use a square image of about:

1000 × 1000 pixels

A smaller image may also work, but try not to use one below:

500 × 500 pixels

Use PNG, JPG, or WebP, depending on the file types accepted by the page. PNG is often best for a logo with words or a plain background.

Keep the main business name or symbol near the centre. Leave a little empty space around it so that it is not cut off when Tambala Market displays it as a circle or rounded square.

The upload page will show the largest file size it accepts. Follow the size shown there.

9. Check everything before saving

Take a moment to review the page.

Make sure:

The business name is correct.
The description clearly explains what you offer.
The categories match your business.
The email address is correct.
The phone number is correct.
The location is correct.
The logo is clear.

Ask yourself:

Can someone who has never heard of this business understand what we offer?

When the answer is no, make the description clearer before saving.

10. Save your business information

When everything looks correct:

Select Save.
Wait for the success message.
Do not close the page while the information is being saved.
Open the page again and check that your changes are still there.

When the page shows an error, read the message and correct the field it points to.

Common problems

My changes are not saving

Check the page for a message showing which field has a problem.

Make sure every required field is complete and your internet connection is working. Also check that the logo is one of the accepted file types and is not too large.

Correct the problem and select Save again.

The wrong business name is showing

Change the name from the business information page when the field can be edited.

When the name has already been checked or the field is locked, contact Tambala Market Support before creating another account.

I do not have a registered business

Complete the parts that apply to you.

Do not enter made-up registration information. When a required field is not clear, ask Tambala Market Support for help.

My business category is not available

Choose the closest category that correctly describes your business.

Do not choose a category that may mislead customers. Contact Tambala Market Support when an important category is missing.

My phone number is not accepted

Check that you included the country code and removed the first zero after +265.

Also check for extra spaces or missing numbers.

My logo will not upload

Check the file type and file size shown on the page. Try uploading a clear PNG, JPG, or WebP image.

When the file is too large, save a smaller copy without making the logo blurry.

My logo looks cut off

Use a square image and place the important parts near the centre. Leave some empty space around the business name or symbol.

I entered the wrong information

Correct it before saving when possible.

When the information has already been checked and you cannot change it, contact Tambala Market Support.

Keep your business information up to date

Return to this page when:

Your phone number changes.
Your email address changes.
Your business moves.
Your business name changes.
You start offering something different.
Your registration details change.
You create a new logo.

Keeping the information correct makes it easier for customers, delivery people, and Tambala Market to reach you.
